By now the new Katherine Warington School will have opened its doors to year 7 students as planned on the new site on Lower Luton Road.

Various activities will have taken place for students and teachers away from the main school site in the run up to the official start date of 30th September when parents and carers will also be invited to visit after school ends on the same day.

New contracts have been awarded by Hertfordshire County Council to bus/coach companies in respect of additional routes required to transport students to school together with existing and amended routes (some including public buses) and operators.

Parents/carers of all students entitled to free travel, including those students who reside in Wheathampstead and are required to travel along the Lower Luton Road, will be contacted by Children’s Services to see if they want to take up the entitlement (HCC Passenger Transport Unit will then issue travel tickets to these students).

An Open Day for 2020/21 Year 7 intake will be held on Saturday, 5th October from 10am until 2pm at the Conference Centre, Rothamsted Research, Harpenden.
