Tower Tours 4th, 5th & 22nd April
Climb the 211 steps up to the top of the oldest Cathedral tower in Britain and experience fantastic views of St Albans. On the way up, see the Cathedral's magnificent Rose Window up close, explore the roof spaces and visit the ringing and bell chambers, before the final climb onto the roof of the tower. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Children and young people aged 11 - 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There are 211 steps, mostly in a steep and narrow medieval staircase. Visitors taking this tour need to be fit enough to manage such a climb.

Spring Open day 15th April
Spring Open Day for the Luton Hoo Estate Walled Garden with children's activities including a historic garden tour 10.30 – 1pm Wednesday 15th April. Please use postcode LU1 4LF to gain access to the Estate via A1081 - West Hyde Road/Newmill End turning. There is no access from the Luton Hoo Hotel.
Amwell Cottage - Open Garden for NGS 19th April
Informal garden of approx 2½ acres around C17 cottage. Large orchard of mature apples, plums and pear laid out with paths. Extensive lawns with borders, framed by tall yew hedges and old brick walls. A large variety of roses, stone seats with views, woodland pond, greenhouse, vegetable garden with raised beds and fire-pit area. 2pm – 5pm Sunday 19th April Children free. Home-made teas. Kimpton Bowls Club 26th April
Kimpton Bowls Club season opens on Sunday 26th April so come and try bowls. Friendly members to show you how to play. Woods provided but flat shoes please. All ages welcome from 2pm. Recreation ground, Kimpton. Contact Brenda Lennox 01582 623106

The Hertfordshire County Show - Cancelled
The Hertfordshire County Show, scheduled for 23rd & 24th May this year has been cancelled. According to HAS Chair Will Dickinson, it was felt that the financial risk in seeking alternative options with so much uncertainty around, enforced total cancellation.
Mill Green Museum & Mill, Welwyn Roman Bath - Cancelled
Coronavirus: In light of the latest government advice, we have decided to close all of our galleries, the mill and Welwyn Roman Baths to the public until further notice.
We have also suspended our cream tea service and have cancelled our events until at least May 31st. This includes all toddler sessions, Easter and May holiday activities, workshops and annual events.
